About Us

Antonio Zannino arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia from Italy in 1950. Several years later he was joined by wife, Mariangela and their children. They established a small vineyard on the Herne Hill property in the Swan Valley. In the early days, table grapes were mostly grown, along with grapes for dried fruit production.

Antonio’s son Charlie worked alongside his father from an early age to learn the art of grape growing, market gardening and making wine, initially made for family and friends. After completing winemaking courses at the University of Western Australia, Charlie converted the vineyard to grow primarily wine grapes and built a cellar door in 1978.

Today, Valley Wines retains its charm of yesteryear, as a working vineyard with the original rustic cellar door is still in use. Charlie and Sally Zannino, along with sons Anthony and Trent are proud to continue the tradition of making authentic quality table wines. With a loyal band of followers, these wines are enjoyable, affordable and drinkable table wines by the litre.
